How to locate programs/agencies using a “Simple Search”
  1. Click on the “Simple Search” tab.
  2. Select a keyword from the list on the left (#1).
  3. Select a service area (#2) or leave the default option selected, which is for “All areas.”
  4. Click on the Search Now button to see the list of agencies and programs for your selected keyword.
  5. Click on the name of the program or agency to review details.

How to locate programs/agencies using an “Advanced Search”
  1. Click on the “Advanced Search” tab.
  2. Select a search type from the drop-down list on the left.
  3. Using your keyboard, type in the first few letters of the search criteria in the Find text box.
  4. If desired, use the Geographic Filter to select a city or zip code from the drop-down list that appears when one of these options is selected.
  5. Click on the Search Now button to see your results. Note: If doing a keyword search, you must first select a keyword from the list before clicking the Search Now button.
  6. Click on the name of the program or agency to review details.

To update the information in an agency or program record that is already in the database:
  1. Begin by searching for the agency or program by clicking on the Advanced Search” tab.
  2. Choose the “search type” option for “agency” or “program” depending on which you would like to update. (See “About Agencies and Programs” if you are not sure which one or how the database is structured.)
  3. Type in the first few letters of the name of the agency in the “Find Text” box and hit enter or click on the Search Now button.
  4. Click on a program or agency name to review the detailed listing.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on the Update Information button, which will open a form where changes can be made to the current listing in our database. (Required fields are noted in red on the right of the data field.)  Please be sure to review all information and add information in fields that are blank.  The more information the better.
  6. (Optional) Click in the checkbox to have a confirmation email sent to the email address that was entered under the “Contact Verification” section at the top of the page.
  7. Click on the Submit button when all changes have been made.

To add a new agency or program:
  1. To confirm that the agency/program is not already n the database, begin by searching for the agency or program using the “Advanced Search” tab. If the agency/program is not found, continue to step 2.
  2. Click on link “Add your agency to our database” or “Add your Program to our database” on the lower left side of the “Advanced Search” page. (See “About Agencies and Programs/Services” if you’re not sure which one or how the database is structured.)
  3. A blank form will open so that detailed information about the agency can be added.
  4. Click on the Submit button when all changes have been made.

 

 

Please note that all updates and additions to the database are reviewed in our office before changes are finalized in the database.

About Agencies & Programs:

Agencies run programs. The Salvation Army is an agency that runs several programs.

Programs are services of an agency. For example, the Salvation Army may run several programs including a thrift shop or an after-school program.

 

To completely review a listing of your agency in our database, you must look at the agency record and EACH program record for the corresponding agency.

To quickly navigate through the keyword list:

 

OR

 

  1. Using your mouse, select any keyword from the list by highlighting its name.
  2. Using the keyboard, type in any letter (A-Z) to jump to the first matching keyword for that letter.

Please note that keywords can be listed by standard abbreviations; the result is that the keyword, “WIC” (the standard abbreviation for the food supplement program for Women, Infants, & Children) will be listed before the keyword, “War Victims.”
